Description
One of the most original bands to set a new trend for the Bay Area.
The Bane started out three years ago with drummer Dana Theriault and rhythm guitarist Jeff McKee where the two met through a mutual acquaintance. With like-mindness and driving passion for creating music, the two quickly formed the core sound of The Bane. In a rut about what to do for lead vocals, Dana suggested former band mate Steve Severino whos musical talent was bred in their previous local band God Dog, which in hindsight was one of the easiest decisions for the band to make. Steves moody lyrical vocals and melodic keyboards added the unique sound Dana and Jeff were looking for. With the core of the band finished the next step was filling out the rest of the sound. After many months of auditions, and still no bassist, the addition of Chris Bragg seemed to be a no-brainer. With his laid back bass lines and velvet transitions the band finally found the sound that is The Bane. With combined decades of experience, The Bane quickly matured and
created a sound that is not easily defined. Pulling from such musical genres
such as Blues, Rock, Pop and a little Funk, The Bane has managed to create
their own unique sytle. Playing all around the bay area such as The Gas Lighter in Campbell, California Cafe wine festival in Los Gatos, The Red Devil Lounge and 12 Galaxies in San Francisco, The Bane has even managed to work their way to competing in the Emergenza Music Festival.
