Tanglewood
The Black
Weaving a spell of disjointed guitar pop hypnotizing in its interplay and charming in its simplicity. Straight Americana and 60s British Invasion sounds, twisted, filtered, spit out shiny and unique. --Rank & Revue Magazine

Description
Centered around the songwriting of David Longoria and Alan Schaefer, the Black perform their music with numerous players from the Austin music scene. Members of And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Knife in the Water and the Crackpipes have helped the band craft mid-tempo songs to be played in the parlour. The Band's Last Waltz and American folk, country and blues music inspire the musicians in their writing, playing and presentation. The Black have spent much of 2005 on the road in America, Canada and Europe supporting Trail of Dead and touring on their own. The debut LP is titled Tanglewood.
