"THE HAPPY DOOR",Tim Anthony,Pop singer/songwriter Tim Anthony takes a break from his many duties and many other projects @ Jealousy Records and treats pop enthusiasts to an excellent 13-song disc with psuedo -60's styled and mainstream pop tunes.Tim has crafted a seamless album with plenty of catchy melodies and adds chiming guitars to many of these great tracks. This disc is very listener friendly.Very easy on the ears.

Tim Anthony "THE HAPPY DOOR",Terrific brand new solo
release from the leader of those pop-juggaurnauts THE BRAMBLES.This release is actually an "A-LEVEL",collaboration with pop maestro Ed James.Mr.James contributes drums, vocals, keyboards and wonderful vocal harmonies throughout this one. This disc is a real pop gem! This album is brimming with tightly played, spunky hook-filled songs.Stongly recommended.

Tim Anthony, founding member of THE BRAMBLES a pop combo from central New York that sometimes worked with Gary Frenay & Tommy Allen of THE FLASHCUBES,has released his second solo cd since stepping out with 1995's "Things That Once We're" On "THE HAPPY DOOR" like "THE BRAMBLES" this is a dual effort.Anthony works along side pop-extraordinare talent Ed James and the work they do together brings to mind ,not surprisingly Ed James solo works, but the refrains of George Harrison(not often heard enough by popsters and found here.)The Raspberries,The Toms and The Rubinoos come into the playground here to play nicely. There must be something in the water, too as the spirit of The Flashcubes' style of late-70's skinny tie power pop i have to say is a strong influence and i don't think i'm imagining things either when i say that. For folks who remember the late 90's power pop band Time Bomb Symphony(fearturing Darren Robbins),"THE HAPPY DOOR" recalls their style as well. This is the kind of power pop that is engagingly upbeat, unfailingly committed to being purely pop, decidedly
genuine and sincere.EXTREMELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Tim Anthony,"THE HAPPY DOOR" (Jealousy Records)
This founding member of The Brambles returns with light but very polished pop that falls somewhere between The Gin Blossoms and The Rembrandts.Songs such as "Maryellen" and the Byrdsian or Tom Petty-like "Baby I"m Back".Anthony sounds as if he has a suitcase or vault filled with pop hooks judging by the infectious and airtight "Up To You" with it's summer feeling and handclaps. The Fact that MTV ,Emotional Pictures & Granada Television inked him to a five-year deal to use his songs on MTV's "ROOMRAIDERS" and other upcoming shows only reinforces the fact that his tunes are finally getting the due that they are well overdue in getting."This Autumn" is more of a Bowie-esque sort of tune what with the melody carrying the brunt of the number while "No Words" is good but seems almost too ordinary.Maybe that says more to Anthony's consistency to maintaining a high level of well-crafted nuggets.Listening to "It Was You" is a great example of this as it starts off sappy but then gives the listener a good swift kick.Other tracks have some strings on them ,most notably the Harrison like "Disappear" that would have been better suited on recent XTC efforts.Nothing theatrical or over the top.Just quality pop.

TIM ANTHONY -THE HAPPY DOOR"
This is an excellent power pop cd and certainly the best thing that Tim has ever released. As a real bonus,Ed James appears on this disc and his contributions are significant. What makes this a real winner is good production, good performance and good material."THE HAPPY DOOR" is certainly one of the best pop rock cd's to come out in 2005!

TIM ANTHONY-THE HAPPY DOOR
I received an advance copy of this disc several months ago and now the cd has been officially released.I stand by my opinion of earlier comments. This is Tim's finest solo effort to date.Primo power pop from start to finish...with some jangly and chiming guitars to please any psuedo-60's enthusiasts like my self.

Discovering a singer-songwriter who has the talent to pro duce near perfect power pop songs and then perform them with consumate vocal and guitar talent is refreshing.Tim Anthony is from central New York toured internationally with his band The Brambles,he is now working solo and runs his own label Jealousy Records.Anthony whose writing and performing styles could be compared to Neil Finn with added dashes of George Harrison's minimalist sweet guitar sounds, has teamed up with pop multi intrumentalist Ed James on his latest release,"THE HAPPY DOOR".This collection of well crafted songs of love lost & heartache is filled with tight vocal harmonies & hook filled melodies.Standout tracks are the classic pop of "MARYELLEN" & "BABY I'M BACK" with it's flowing guitar solo, while the thoughtful ballad "MORE" features a french horn solo by Ed James."NO WORDS" contains superb guitar with catchy harmonies, while the string laden "DISAPPEAR" was written for Anthony's late father. Each track's origins are fully described inside with liner notes and lyrics. While the "THE HAPPY DOOR" is only available on import at present, listen to samples at www.cdbaby.com/timanthony2.South Australia Life readers can be among the first in Australia to discover Tim Anthony's musical talents by buying a personally autographed cd from www.jealousy-records.com.
