Description
Living in the midwest, I've never experienced the power and devastation of a hurricane. Watching cable news coverage gave me only a small glimpse of the gut wrenching destruction and personal tragedies theses monsters cause.
Watching Hurricane Rita come ashore, I was glad to be in my safe, humble abode. I hope we can all pull together and take care of what needs to be done...
The "Eye of Destruction" album was originally music I was putting together depicting the aftermath of tornados or floods. But I think that suffering, personal losses and heroic deeds take place in all natural disasters. I've incorporated four photos from the NOAA and NASA photo libraries In the artwork. The front cover is a three-dimensional cloud top image of Hurricane Diana from 1984. The other three are Hurricane Andrew from 1992,
Hurricane Dora from 1999, and Tropical storm Katrina as she approached Florida.

1. "Eye of Destruction"...6:01 a musical statement on
the power of nature and the aftermath.
2. "Kat's Eye View"...5:29...Hip-funk-techno-hop..samples
and live tracks
3. "Troubled Waters"...5:02 sampled string quartet with
classic and Hip-hop drums. Nice acoustical guitar and
samples.
4. "Search/Recovery... 4:24 Spectrasonics' backbeat drummer
loops. Live tracks, i.e. conventional recording,
using a Roland Fantom X keyboard usually going thru an
XV-2020 sound module; modest but effective.
5. "Heroes"... 3:56 A heartfelt song I wrote 10 yrs ago.
Midi-sequenced on a 486 computer.
6. "The Blame Game"... 4:51 Produced using samples, i.e.
music files anywhere from 2-8 beats in duration. This
song is uninspiring, unoriginal and transparent, which
fits the title connotation just right.
7. "Here We Go Again"... 4:31 Refers to Hurricane Rita.
sampled drums,Fantom X live tracks..Funk/bump groove.
8. "Time Will Tell"...4:34 A shortened, remastered favorite
of mine. Sampled Latin style drum/percussion tracks.
9. "Make A Wish Come True"...4:46 A familiar sounding song
mostly live tracks with a sprinkle of sampled drums.
10. "Exit Overture"...10:12 A Pink Floyd-ish beginning with
a reassuring finish. Lots of samples and live sounds.
"Take care"
