Description
San Francisco based singer-songwriter Tony Ryan began writing songs as a teenager growing up in Dublin. He was influenced by everything from the the pub ballads of the Dubliners and Christy Moore to Elvis Costello and the emerging Dublin rock scene centered around the Baggot Inn and McGonigles.
Eventually, after immigrating to New York (by way of Germany) he made his first recordings and live appearances at bars and clubs in Queens and Manhattan.
After three years on the east coast, Tony moved to San Francisco where he continued to build a live pub repertoire consisting of his original material along with covers of songs from a who's who list of songwriters. Needless to say his live act has always featured a generous helping of the best Irish pub songs.
Tony's CD 'Unholy Blue' features eight new original songs that feel equally at home on AAA radio as they do live in a packed bar.
