Description
Walter remains one of the best unsigned one man acts in The Blues. Everything from writing, to the final production, Walter has done it all once again. Walt believed coming into the business, that when you look at the individuals that are seen as legends, they were the ones who showed courage and faith in everything they've faced. While this record isn't dressed in fine leather on it's cover, the inside will have you tapping your feet on the floor and bobbing you head to the truth; The Blues.
Here is Walter's Story....
Walter has come a long way from the streets of San Antonio TX. Originally from Bexar County, this multi-talented entertainer began his career in a small baptist church. It did not take long for family and supporters to see that Walter had a true and special gift. he often entertained family members with impressions of television personalities.
Soon after turning 18, Walter began sneaking into blues clubs, and jamming with local and national acts. To the disappointment of many, by the time the show had ended, Walter had quietly disappeared into the shadows of the club from which he came.
The Host With The Most
In the fall of 1998, Walter moved to Minot, North Dakota, and became a fixture at the local bars that hosted weekly jam sessions. This is where Walter began writing the material for his debut CD.
While living in North Dakota, Walter began moonlighting as a host at a local comedy club, where he quickly became a crowd favorite. One evening, he was approached by a comedian who asked if he would go on a comedy tour as an opening act. Walter agreed. For two weeks, he toured North America with the comedian who quickly became a foe. Because Walter was booked as a opening act, he was not expected to have much of an impact. Wrong!
learned on the comedy stage to his first passion, The Blues!
While in the hotel room between shows, Walter would concentrate on his music and stage presence. It was apparent that comedy was not on his menu.
After the tour ended, Walter returned and began recording his debut CD. He also began incorporating some of the stage presence he gained from the comedy stage into his musical performance. The audiences fell in love with his new and edgy approach to the blues.
The #1 Bad Boy of The Blues. But Why?
In July of 2001, Walter relocated to Altus, Oklahoma. It was there that Walter began to come into his own. The city soon realized that they had a star in their presence.
After the release of his second CD, Walter was crowned by many as the # 1 Bad Boy of The Blues.
While being interviewed for a Wichita Falls-based news paper, Walter held nothing back on his perspective on the legacy of the blues. To some he may be a hard pill to swallow, but to blues fans, he is just what the doctor ordered. When asked what he likes to be labeled as, his answer is simply "A Entertainer".
His raw emotion and unpredictable stage antics has given him all of the tools needed to keep soul and blues alive for decades to come. With the release of his third record in five years, Walt shows no sign of slowing down. Look out the Bad Boy Is Coming!!!!
