Description
Raised in a musical family in Kenya, Elika Mahony learned classical piano from an early age. She began composing instrumental pieces and music inspired by the Bahai Writings while attending university in the United States. In 1997, Elika produced her first CD With Fiona Doomun and Michele Brown, entitled "Melodies of the Nightingale" on which they sing short, meditational passages from the Bahai Writings set to music. Elika's second CD entitled "Melodies of the Nightingale for the Family" includes prayers and meditations for parents, children, marriage, youth and expectant mothers.
Her CDs have been sold in 25 countries around the world. Currently,
Elika resides in China where she is working on a new CD on the theme of tests and difficulties.
It is her hope that the music on this CD, which was inspired by the sacred scriptures of the Baha'i Faith, will be a means of bringing peace, joy and delight to families everywhere.
