Description
Many people in the Christian music industry know that JOE HAND is an accomplished singer, songwriter, performer and producer(especially regarding his work with the Catholic market-where he is best known for co-writing the theme song to EWTN's LIFE ON THE ROCK). But what you may not know is that this is a man dedicated to his faith and the journey hes been on, while growing in his personal relationship with God.
JOE HAND has recorded multiple CD projects with significant sales success. In 2003, he released this CD-EVERYTHING AND NOTHING, his first solo project after a 5 year hiatus. His theme for this project was inspired by scripture, but also addresses issues that we are faced with in troubling times. At first glance, Joe seems disappointed by what society thrusts upon us, but in deeper reflection you can see clearly that he is overwhelmed with the idea that his true calling is to serve the Lord by serving others.
The title track, Everything and Nothing, is a bitter reminder of those who lost their lives on 9/11. Hand tells us that we are made of dust (Nothing) and yet God knows every hair on our head (Everything). It is interesting that this sentiment is echoed in Empty, a song about how God uses our lowest point to fill us with His Spirit if we let Him. There are still plenty of p&w songs here (as well)with I Want To Worship, Be My Vision, and Rise Again. You'll also be inspired by "Ballad Of The Well Worn Jacket" which is Joe Hand's personal testimony about giving his coat to a homeless man in Atlanta. This song has been used to raise serious awareness to the plight of the homeless here in this country and abroad.
This is a CD that grows with you. There is no doubt you can feel the ministry in the music!
