Description
This is Lizabeth's first CD.
This recording has two thirds of The Shirley Horn trio playing on it. The great Steve Novosel on Bass and Steve
Williams on drums, plus the wonderful Ron Holloway
on saxaphone. Lizabeth recorded with Ron on his CD
GROOVE UPDATE, on Fantasy records, and wanted to
have him add his talents on 'Flood of Emotion'.
Larry Willis produced this project, he has been a major
influence in the world of jazz, and his arrangements
are beautifully shown on this CD.
Lizabeth is a native Washingtonian and has been performing
in the area for 25 years, playing and singing on the Hill,
in nightclubs and Hotels and festivals.
You can see her at the Marquee Lounge at the Shoreham Hotel
Thursdays through Saturdays, and she is also a member of
the Choral Arts Society of Washington D.C., singing at the
Kennedy Center a dozen times a year.
Lizabeth started playing piano at 4, was classically trained
in both piano and voice, but decided in her teens that
she loved the music of tin pan alley, blues and jazz.
She has a repertoire of over 2000 songs, but her love is
writing music and lyrics, and this CD showcases her talents as a composer.
