Description
By synthesizing traditional instrumentation with an array of sound producing electronic devices, Cliff Magreta (guitar, vocals), Dan Sandvick (bass) and Bob Mustachio (drums) have created a band worth investing their collective experience in. They draw not only on their musical tenure in several established Los Angeles based bands (The Shore, Spectrum, Lily's, The Warlocks) but also on a diverse technical background, producing what has been called "industrial psyche rock".
The band was formed in 2005 and began performing in Los Angeles (including opening for Editors) as well as performing in Austin during SXSW 2006. They thrive on experimenting with technology in the context of producing music, hear the evidence on Minutes Til Midnight's self released debut EP (May 17th, 2006).
The sound has been compared to Primal Scream, Depeche Mode, DFA, Death in Vegas and Lalo Schifrin. The band as an autonomous unit, however, creates music transcendent of any singular comparisons. Minutes Til Midnight is the marriage of forceful sonic experimentation and songwriting craft.
