The Nothing Years
The New Evils
Sounds like the shadowy side of 1969. Not the hippy stuff...more like The Stooges meets Johnny Cash meets The Sonics meets Tom Waits, yea... or something like that. Maybe.

Description
The song: "the Drifter" was used during the opening sequence of the film "Sleeping dogs lie" starring Maynard James Keenan and Brad Wilk (the drummer of Audioslave).

This is the kind of recording that you might suspect some kind of peripheral involvement by producer / songwriter Kim Fowley. Fowley's "Bubblegum" (which was covered by Sonic Youth) is not a far reach from The New Evils sound.
In a world of denim Jeans with fake dirt, The New Evils: The Nothing Years looks and feels like real dirt. The kind of dirt that won't come out in the wash. The kind of dirt you get when your working in a garage (a real garage) rebuilding your transmission and tinkering with your 1959 Oldsmobile coup.
