Take Hwy 5 to the 101 north to San Francisco, the city that once spawned the 60's psychedelic rock movement and hippie culture. An indie music scene currently dominates, yet the SUBSTITUTES thrive outside of this creating their own world of music, clubs and scenes. The sound: combine the guitars of Mike and Joel firmly rooted in the 70's stylings and tones while Britt and Paul channel the groove and feel of James Brown's rhythm section.
