Description
Based in Kansas City, but never claiming to take root, The Afterpartys music is as transient as their members. They are an eight-piece band most of the time, but are always happy to play with more or less people onstage. To the members of The Afterparty, any time is a good time to see what sounds can be made with dynamic variables. The Afterparty can go from outlaw desert country to smooth 60s R&B without even blinking, and their audiences love them for it!
Primary songwriter Danny Fischer thrives on change and experimentation, which is reflected in the many moods of The Afterparty. While they might be a bit unpredictable, The Afterparty is always a treat to see and hear. Theyve received comparisons to Gram Parsons, Roy Orbison, Whiskeytown, Bright Eyes and Lou Reed- to which they are mostly indifferent. They prefer to think of themselves as lazy outlaw country with a sultry soulful veil.
