Description
All Hands Around formed in 1998 after performing as a "throw together" band at the Waterfront Irish Fest in Newport, Rhode Island. The band was so well received that they all decided to stay together and tour as "All Hands Around"
Roger Burridge grew up in Somerset, England, in the town of Harlington Marsh. He lived several years in Dublin and Galway but really came on to the traditional scene when he move to Doolin in County Clare, Ireland. There he met piper Davy Spillane and played music with him and Tommy Peoples for years.
Michael Shorrock, from Carolina Rhode Island toured with Patrick Sky for many years. It was Patrick that turned him on to Irish Traditional music. In the early 80's while on tour in Ireland Michael ended up in Doolin and met Roger. To this day the 2 are very best of friends. Michael lives in Carolina Rhode Island with his wife Kathleen Conneely, renouned as possibly the best whistle player on the planet!!!
Dave Paton was born in London to American parents. He's been playing concertina and hammer dulcimer for many years. He's recorded with the great Johnny Cunningham, on one of Johnny's albums. Dave lives in Sharon, Connecticut.
Deirdre Murtha sings all the songs on this fine album. She was raised in Connecticut and has been singing Irish music all of her life.
