Description
Amanda Sena is a singer/songwriter from Chicago, Illinois who is making a name for herself in the music circuit. Now, backed by some of the hottest and up-and-coming Chicago-based musicians, this full band act has been together now for over a year. While Amanda contributes a contemporary soulful sound, Brian lays down the solid foundation, Jim lays down the riffs that give the songs an edge, Jorge adds the groove on the low end and Kitty fills the songs with beautiful harmonies.
The band has performed around the Midwest from coffeehouses to outdoor arenas. Some venues include: uncommon ground, lagrange street fests, depaul university, pick a cup, dominican university, silvie's lounge, hoghead mcdunna's, the melody inn (indiana), and the tweeter center opening for big names like Jessica Simpson, Barenaked Ladies, and Alanis Morissette to name a few.
Amanda has been regarded as being the breath of fresh air that is needed in music and she is far from finished. Her songwriting and performing continue to evolve, leading to her sophomore release, full of songs that are more mature and, quite frankly better than the debut. This highly anticipated release, being produced by Brian Zieske (The Academy Is, The Hush Sound, Skywriter) is scheduled to be released in early 2006. These tracks include a broad and eclectic range of style, sure to please a wide ranging audience. Be sure to catch them on their upcoming Midwest Tour!
