Description
BASSICLY ALONE is a one of-a-kind one man show!
--Dave Richards SHOWCASE MAGAZINE, ERIE TIMES. An original whos in a musical category all by himself. Calabrese has an intense compelling look and style. Hes impossible to ignore.
--Alton Post WORKING CLASS HERO. I didnt know such a minimalist approach could have such an impact.
Music in motion................................
Motorized helmets sporting various spinning or moving objects remotely controlled by an easy access on off switch adorned the cranium of a determined bassist. Imagination fused with real time expression while flying fingers explored the full range of a 1978 fender precission bass. The room resonated a positive tone as cheers and laughter glittered through the air at various punch lines or the final thump of a tune. This entertainer was the servant of the audience and if he was deemed to be worthy would be lifted to unforeseen heights. I have seen the unforeseen and it was good! Thank you my dear patrons!
The songs featured on this album were recorded from 1992 till 1994 except Noahs Sky recorded in 1998.
Louis Nicolia of the Erie Philharmonic graces Brother Vincent with violin on South Pier Soliloquy and Noahs Sky. Thank you Louis for displaying your talent on this collection of music!
Brother Vincent wouldn't be the same without my artist and musician friends whose vibrant vocal expressions helped bring these tunes to life.
Make peace.
