Description
Hailing from Cambridge, UK, Behind Bars' music is never easy to classify; it's not just rock, funk, jazz or pop their music covers all of that territory with a sweeping ambition and musical proficiency to match.
Although following a classic rock line-up, they are very song and melody oriented led by guitar and keyboards. One minute, you'll find yourself singing along to memorable, catchy hooks, the next smacking your head against to wall to kick-a** rock riffs.
Behind Bars was originally formed in January 2006 by guitarist James Coppolaro and keyboardist Jamie Brooks who teamed up with the long-standing rhythm section of Pete Scrivener on bass and Dave Brooks on drums.
They have since created a performing and song style that is a unique fusion of rock, funk, jazz and pop - their music covers all of that territory with a sweeping ambition and musical proficiency to match. It is often difficult to classify, but it has yielded music that is both accessible and commercial with strong and very credible rock roots.
As a performing entity they generate an exciting, fresh rock vibe. Behind Bars are some of the best musicians around and are bursting with talent and energy.
Their first EP - Trust No One - conveys the flavour of their songwriting style and musicianship. With 3 tracks, it captures a small but powerful sample of what is to come from this exciting new talent.
