Description
Washington DC native, Cero aka El Parcero Grocero aka Estevan Palasquesea has been down for whatever when it comes to his culture and ethnicity. Being of South American descent and listening to rap music since the days of Public Enemy, Rakim, and 2LiveCrew. At age 6 he admired the older kids that knew how to break and do windmills at the park. As he grew older he got caught up on graffiti where he developed his creativeness for the arts.
After dropping out of High School in 95 he moved to Cali, Colombia to vist his family. While he was there he fell in love with his Colombian culture and its notorius negativeness where he would buy a pound of weed for 10 dollars and party with his beautiful girlfriends. While living in Cali he enrolled into the school system with the help of his cousin who was the schools principal. I use to translate lyrics from Cypress Hill, Wu Tang, and Nas to my friends from the streets, where they would encourage me to rap in Spanglish By doing this he started performing under the name Carni-007 for insanely carrying a machete on stage at the 1st Cali Hip Hop Concert to scare away his stage fright. He helped create the group Buddah Bandits which would rock shows every 2 weeks, and hosted a radio show at La Mega, the group would open up for acts like Sandy y Papo, Big Boy, Aterciopelados and Control Machete.
In 98 he returned back to his hometown of Hyattsville, MD. Through his Colombian Connections he got a job at US Airways giving him free flight benefits and a music connect in Chicago with another artist by the name of Tragiko. During this time the music scene for Hip Hop Latino was dormant, especially in DC. I use to fly 1st class like every 2 weeks to Chi-town just to get in a studio booth keep in mind the internet was limited during this time.
They both created a group called Trafikantez under an independent label Smuggla Entertainment. Trafikantez succesfully released De Calidad Por Cantidad which help them colaborate with artists like 3Coronas (Nyc), Los Nandez (Chicago), G.Cardona (NYC), Dshon (Miami), AL (Nyc),L.M.W.(Boston)Ctrafffik (Miami). They traveled to Puerto Rico, Miami, Boston, New York, Dallas, and Colombia to promote, record and perform. After appearing in mixtapes, complilations, In The House magazine, a music video directed by Niche Studios (Big Pun Documentays), and the Locombian Connection Tour in Colombia the group disbanded due to creative differences.
In 2004, he dropped the beef from his name and started off with CERO. He got affiliated with Riverside Management and pressed 250 copys of Welcome to El Parque mixtape which included ruff demos, and Trafikantez songs. Cero later enrolled at Omega School and at the Art Institute where he would pick up some trades maturing his mind more towards the business aspect of the industry. Cero began traveling frequently to Miami and New York where he would record with QUE-TV entertainment with the help of Calle Cardona, a professional artist and good friend.
Now with his own corporated publishing company Ceromundo (BMI), Cero has been grinding the industry and the streets like coffee beans with performances at Calle Ocho 05, appearences at the Latin Rap Conference and numerous shows in the Washington DC area, not to mention a featured mixtape by Dj Sin-Sear, with guest spots and collaborations with other known DC artists (Imperio, Culture Stylo, Fenomedon, Camilo 100Fuegos, ect) and producers (Max Methods, Sabio, ect). Cero has just released his debut album Sacrificio with production from Tony Vinyl, Crooks Brothers, Golden Chyld, and Stretch. The album is 13 tracks of Ceros versatile, raw, gritty, original, flow. Ponete Pilas is the hit single (97.5FM) that has created a serius buzz in the streets with its T-Shirts and Stickers. Cero Sacrifcio brings Hip Hop Latino the crack that it has been forever feaning for...street tales of struggle, battles, club heat, and controversial lyrics over neck breaking beats. With Ceros sacrifice, dedication and forever hustle their is only cero minutes left for the world to recognize the world of Cero. .
