Description
Chinas Comidas was a Seattle area band during the late 70's. The band released two singles on their own Exquisite Corpse label. They were amongst the first Seattle bands to break into the urban club scene in the late 70's that had previously been exclusively bar bands and cover bands. This was the beginning of the Seattle Punk scene. Chinas opened twice for the Ramones, toured the east coast with the Dead Kennedys and performed in San Francisco at the Mabuhay Gardens and in L.A. at the Hong Kong Cafe, Whiskey A GoGo and many other clubs. Chinas first L.A. gig was with the Germs at the Hong Kong and they did gigs with Black Flag, Red Cross, Fear, Dils, Doa, The Bags and Johanna Went. The band was written about in Slash Magazine, Search and Destroy and New York Rocker. In Seattle the band was controversial with a lot of avid fans and avid enemies. These recordings range from live cassette mixes and 4 track rehearsal recordings to 16 track studio recordings. To find out more about the band please visit our website: www.chinascomidas.com
