Description
Clayton Savage is the founder of Red K Records and owner of Savage One Publishing.
This Virginia born musical prodigy quickly acknowledges his talents come from up above.
Internationally known as studio sessionist and producer for Sugar Hill Records, Clayton toured Europe and abroad with the Furious Five, developing a fan base of his own.
The multi-instrumentalist is known for Hip Hop and R&B but is quick to point out that that is not the entire story. Clayton is determined to praise Him in song as he testifies to Gods grace in overcoming the obstacles in life, the trials and tribulations, and finding strength in the Lord before and after all hope seems gone.
Clayton grew up in the church, performing with local gospel groups throughout his childhood, further honing his skills in live performance as a guitarist and singer. He was also Minister of Music for a short time for his uncles church.
Through his Red K Records Label, Clayton hopes to open the door for more artists but keep the emphasis on Gods Mission.
In his own words:
I am determined to give back to the church and through the church, the community.
This isnt about me, its about using the talents to accomplish Gods mission. I want to put God in the Business because the business is God. Too often artists are asked to compromise just to sell records or are taken advantage of by a gospel industry thats run identical to the secular industry.
All this money that is generated through concerts, the records, and etc, how much of it is getting back to the churches and the community?
When I think of going to the church, being a devoted child of God, why should I need to go to the world for any of my needs? We tithe and through this tithing we should be financially empowering our church to grant home loans, business loans, scholarships and support the goals of the community.
I want to win more souls over to Christ. When someone looks at the church as only supporting the churchs needs and not the needs of the community, they wont attend. Tithing will be smaller.
There is church business, Gods business and I am here to do it.
My church homes are First Baptist of Manassas, VA and Queen Street Baptist in Norfolk, VA. I will begin my missions there.
