Description

National awarding-winning song writer Cosy Sheridan and her wryly insightful songs have been showcased everywhere from Carnegie Hall to 'The Dr Demento Show'. In her new cd, Live At CedarHouse, audiences everywhere can get a taste of Cosys live performances and see why shes been called one of the eras finest and most thoughtful singer/songwriters and why Acoustic Guitar Magazine wrote, "If I were going to throw an all-girl dinner party at which I wanted to laugh and cry from the hors d'oeuvres to the chocolate pudding, Cosy Sheridan is the first woman I'd invite."

She appeared on the national folk scene in 1992 when she won the songwriting contests at the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and released her critically acclaimed CD Quietly Led on Waterbug Records. Folk Music Quarterly wrote: When shes accepting her Grammy, we can say we knew her when.

Since then shes been on the road, or home in Moab, Utah writing songs in her 1955 Airstream trailer-turned-studio. She released 5 more cds on Waterbug and WindRiver/Folk Era labels.

In 2003 she wrote a one-woman-show The Pomegranate Seed An Exploration of Appetite, Body-Image and Myth in Modern Culture and released an accompanying CD of the music. The Salt Lake Tribune described it as a bold unflinching look at issues affecting womens lives. Cosy performs the show all over the country at colleges, high schools, and benefits for womens issues. New Mexicos arts magazine Alibi called The Pomegranate Seed Sheridans soul bled directly to disc.

Last summer she spent 6 weeks writing a song cycle for bestselling author Robert Fulghums new book, Third Wish, now at the top of the bestseller list in the Czech Republic and gaining popularity across Europe.

Cosy has also gained a national reputation as a songwriting teacher. She has been on the faculty at The Swannanoa Gathering in North Carolina, Summersongs in NY, California Coast Music Camp in California, and The Black Hills Songwriting Retreat in South Dakota.
