The new cd by award-winning childrens performer DARIA is titled BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW WORLD, and presents songs from African, Caribbean, Australian, Latin American, Quechua, Native American, Hebrew, Arabic, Yiddish and African-American tradition. DARIA, a touring and performing world musician lives in Pennsylvania and has the most awesome job of traveling the world and singing for kids.
This album features a didgeridoo track with some amazing didg playing by Karl Sangree. Do The Limbo was a favorite of my Middle East 2006 tour. (I guess if you can belly-dance then the limbo is a piece of cake!) Theres a South African style version of Kumbayah that is dedicated to Vusi Mahasela known as the voice of South Africa.
Songs about peace and a new vision for the planet include Salaam, Shalom , Down By the Riverside and Whole New World. Songs in Spanish include Bate, Bate Chocolate and Ese Pollito. And at last I have finally included a song in Quechua the language that I speak from South America the language of the Incan Empire. That song is called Yaw, Yaw Puka Polleracha. I dedicate this song to all my Peruvian friendscon todo cario.
