Description
UK singing sensation David Gregory has trained under a number of acclaimed Singing Teachers, Vocal Coaches and Musical Directors over the years including the international Opera Star Malcolm Rivers, West End Vocal Consultant Mary Hammond, British Voice Association President Mark Meylan, English National Opera Music Director Paul Daniel, their Head of Music Tony Legge, Mary King (Artistic Director of The Knack - a performance course for Opera Singers) and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under Penelope Mackay and Theresa Goble.
David has performed a number of principal roles in Opera, Operetta, both West End and Touring Musicals, and Pantomime including Don Curzio in 'Figaro's Wedding' (Jeremy Sams's English National Opera translation of Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro'), Nanki Poo in 'The Mikado', Freddie Eynsford Hill in 'My Fair Lady', Amshel Rothschild in 'The Rothschilds' (West End Premiere of the Hit Broadway Show), The Prince in 'Sleeping Beauty', Eugene/Teen Angel in 'Grease' and was a Featured Singer in two UK Touring Musical Revue Shows 'The Music of the Night' and 'West End to Broadway'. David has also appeared in Solo Concert at the Royal Festival Hall and on BBC TVs Songs of Praise, Sky TV and BBC Radio. His other credits include numerous Classical Recitals and Cabaret Shows.
In 2002, David was a semi-finalist on the award-winning Channel 4 series Operatunity (in collaboration with the English National Opera, EMI Classics and Diverse Ltd), and his participation in the competition can be seen on the subsequent DVD release of the series. Then, as a result of being spotted by a major executive in the music industry, David was engaged by the Decca Record Company to record some sample tracks for consideration by the legendary World-Class Tenor Luciano Pavarotti prior to the recording of his farewell album Ti Adoro.
In 2004, David recorded a comedy Jingle to the tune of O Sole Mio for the Jonathan Coleman and Harriet Scott Breakfast Show on Londons Heart 106.2 FM Radio Station. He was then subsequently fast-tracked by the BBC onto their popular quiz The Weakest Link to deliver an Opera-Gram to the shows notorious Quiz-Mistress 'The Queen of Mean Anne Robinson! In July 2005, David was delighted to appear at a major Music Festival in Milton Keynes alongside such names as Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and international Concert Pianist Linda Ang. More recently, David duetted on an exciting new recording project - a CD single called 'Brighter Day' with acclaimed international R&B singer/songwriter Kiskadee, who is also a member of the Michael Jackson Production Team lead by Producer John Barnes.
Currently, David can be seen performing at a large number of Marks & Spencer Stores throughout the UK. His stunning voice coupled with his incredibly diverse repertoire (Opera, Musicals and Pop - including Big Band, Chart and 1950s, 60s and 70s Standards), have won him such acclaim from the public that a CD - David Gregory: The Collection was produced last year to meet with the demand.
