Description
Brother Michael Spencer draws upon his decades of singing and signature guitar sounds to write and perform Christian
music for the Christian and the non-Christian.
He and advertising exec, producer-writer-saxophonist, Barry Siegel believe it is time for America to claim a new genre. The Deja Boomers are a stunning example of unity and solidarity. Band members include Luke Wayne Richards (a.k.a. Kool Hand Luke) on bass, Brother Michaels friend since grammar school; and Bobbie Siegel, Barrys beautiful wife, of 35 years, on drums.
The team is intentionally creating music that speaks to the common thread in all of us. It attempts to Bring Us Together through an old style approach to new tunes, and a new style approach to old tunes best exemplified by the original selection with the very appropriate and obvious title, Bring Us Together. And it moves us to believe in more than ourselves without sounding preachy.
Brother Michael and The Deja Boomers believe the nation has been polarized and terrified, and now is the time to heal. They recommend the universal language of soul-soothing music.
Thank You Mama, takes a childhood prayer and converts it into a mellow tribute and dedication. Spencer turns the prayer into a mantra with a unique voice that can only be called natural and unpretentious. BrotherMichaels message continues through his other original compositions including Salvation Station, Harvest Time, Where Would I Be, All Hail, and Got My Sword. But this is not just another standard Christian Album. It is a celebration of this nations Judeo-Christian Values. It includes soulful renditions of traditional Jewish Songs including The Exodus Song and Hava Nagila, as well as a special smooth jazz treatment combining Sunrise Sunset with The Pink Panther. And an album of spirit and unity could not be complete without the inclusion of People Get Ready and Amen, two great tunes made famous by Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions.
Boomers can reminisce and be inspired by the sounds of this new music experience. And xers, yers and others can just jam.
Brother Michael Spencer and the Deja Boomers have done an unusual thing theyve created music that makes us all feel better, about ourselves and each other.
