Description
Dene An Acoustic Hike through the Jackson hole Wilderness
An instrumental album by Dene by Denny Earnest former longtime resident of Jackson Hole, having lived there through the 80s and 90s when he had his Hidden Ranch Studios set up and running. This is a CD full of pleasant surprises a Concept album
I thought it would be fun to do a CD with all the places I tramped and hiked, a lot of it was recorded after a jaunt in the woods or a hike says Denny reflecting on the CD.
I started doing back round music for a living back in Jackson when the ADAT revolution started, (Digital Recording Machines) so it was really fun to try and come up with sounds and try an emulate my surrounding with guitar, dobro, bottleneck, or whatever was lying around, I think I used some Mandolin also, quoting from an old interview from the Jackson Hole News. Sue Cedarholm shot the beautiful front and back covers, while of course on her many hike through the Jackson Hole Wilderness.
The name Dene came about while joking with his wife Barbara, pronounced either Denny or Denay, it sort of became my acoustic nickname, when I was being in a Windham Hill mood. Some call this CD New Age, but its not that drifty or feet running in the sand stuff, its more organic sometimes a little Bluegrass or Blues, but its a real easy listen and hopefully will conjure up memories of Jackson if you ever been lucky enough to visit. Dene or Denny now lives a little north of Yellowstone in Paradise Valley MT same ecosystem north entrance to the park rather than south, a bit warmer.
Hes still doing back round music working for many Publishers getting a few placements on TV and Film, a few of these songs have made to the airwaves.
So kick back and let yourself be elevated naturally to some fine acoustic music played and recorded in Jackson Hole, the best of the West
