Description
Dialog is the alias of London based producer Andy Smith.
As well as wrting electonic music, he also performs laptop sets.
Tracks from the album "Music for Imaginary Movies" were first played by Dave Mothersole's on his deephouse radio show on Kiss FM. The album is now in wider circulation & has earnt good review from many DJ's on the electronic scene:
Jeffrey Disastronaut: Deep House hasn't sounded better than this all year. A standout
Andy Holt (Redanka): Nice Summerness!! Nautilus is the pick of the bunch for me. Very cool.
Pathaan (BBC Asian Network): Loving this CD you sent me, more please.......Abandoned is a killer.
Plump DJ's: Great Music for after hours chillouts etc...nice one.
Mark Anthony (Velvet): very BT meets Rabbit in the Moon. Abandoned would fit perfectly at home on a Sasha & Digweed "Nothern Exposure" CD.....loving it.
Gordon Kaye: This is very well produced. My favorite is Abandoned. A lush dirty rolling break, bass heavy and subtle yet effective percussion. The moody synths are great too. Love it.
Anthony Pappa: cool tunes
Drumattic Twins: wow. If only I was listening to this in Ibiza & not the UK. Great production, I can only as yet imagine how good these tracks sound watching the sun set.
Andy is a veteran of 90's UK electronic scene and saw most of the key acts such as Orbital, Underworld, Ultramarine, Spooky, Sabres of Paradise, Seefeel, Aphex Twin, Global Communications, Fluke, Autechre, Lamb, Mixmaster Morris to name a few. These days he likes the eclectic downtempo scene at the Big Chill and currently rates Air, Aim, Gel-Sol & Ulrich Schnauss.
6 of the 8 songs on Music for Imaginary Movies were co-written with Alan Platten, a producer who has now relocated to the USA. Alan also contributed the artwork to the album.
