Description
Like so many rock n' roll pioneers before them, Five Minute Sin has taken conventional hard music to the limits. Twisting seemingly melodic expressions into a whirlwind of innovative, yet strangely familiar riffs, this Southern Hard Rock band has set in motion the turning of the wheels for a new world of true rock music to emerge. Originally formed in 1999, Five Minute Sin played several shows on the underground music scene in Albuquerque. The original 4 members of the band split ways in 2001 and reunited in early 2004 with a new sound and a powerful new sense of energy. Since their rebirth the band has played an exhaustive schedule of performances to small and large crowds alike.
The band has been featured in the Weekly Alibi Magazine and on 104.7 the Edge radio's "Morning Edge". The capstone of 2006 came as the band was voted Best New / Emerging Band in Albuquerque by the Weekly Alibi. They have been a part of many benefit events supporting cancer and other causes. In mid 2006 they recorded and produced a full length album with the help of Eagle Rock Studio and Roadrunner Duplication. Current venues include Burt's Tiki Lounge, The Atomic Cantina, The Sol Arts Theater, Bull o' the Woods, and Puccini's Golden West Saloon. Five Minute Sin has always been about entertaining friends and fans. Combining powerful music with energetic spirit, Five Minute Sin hopes to change the direction of hard rock music today.
Jesse "Zen"
Jesse is the frontman of the group. He takes care of the vocals and rhythm guitar. He screams out his lyrics with the intensity of Morrison and range of Chris Cornell. Oh yeah, he throws down some wicked solos too. Though we all have our abstract thoughts, Jesse brings the virtue of the Bodhi.
Frans "Voodoo"
Voodoo takes his name from a long, prolonged detachment from the senses experienced on the beaches of Ibeza. It is rumored that some sort of Voodoo, perhaps the spell of a women, or even a deal with eternity itself, came back with him from the island. Regardless, some voodoo must be behind his twisting, screaming, distored and often chaotic guitar leads. Voodoo also brought stories which inspire many sin songs.
"Diamond" Dan
On the 4-string Diamond Dan drops the brahmanatic pulse of Five Minute Sin. Pouring out funky and melodic bass lines like perspiration, Diamond Dan twists the lines of pornstar and rockstar. Balls.
The Bart
Bart throws down beats like a madman with his hair on fire. He's the drummer for Five Minute Sin and got his name because there is no other way to describe him, "The Bart." Drinking Jager and going crazy are his hobbies.
