Description
Flying Venus moves into the realm of heavy americana with bigger guitars, driving drums, funky keyboards and expressive vocals. Their third release, Face of a Nation, is a departure from Jean Mazzeis previously poppy point of view. I guess I just needed to talk about how I see America today. My intention is not to finger-point, but to observe and question. From We All Fall Down, a song which is a twisted perspective of looking at street life through a funhouse mirror, moving on to high school love in Kinda Life U, to the plight of the lonely in Long Road to Memphis, this collection of 14 songs pulls from diverse facets of American life. The songs are about real people, real dreams, and real issues.
