Description
This is a genuine solo album yet features over a dozen instruments that make up a seventeen song compilation of a few years intensive song writing. Freddy (of Dunedin, New Zealand)has been playing his style of "Alt. Country" in venues for around a year but countless 'wee small' hours over the past half decade or so have given him a deep reservoir of lyrical and musical material.
Not wanting to fit into the "mature" or "adulterated" areas of acoustic performance he tends to prefer a boozy crowd of people having as much fun as he is than a serious, "click your fingers in appreciation for the tortured artist" type audience.
An eclectic mix of influences can be noted: Johnny Cash, Gillian Welch, Tom Waits, Mark Lanegan and a whole galaxy of Punk, Metal and Rock n' roll music. Hence song names such as "I Love Slayer" and Smells Like Teen Binge Drinkin'".
"Hung like a humming bird, romancing women,
Hand it all on the line
Sniffin' dirty linen.
Flop in out don't fuck around,
Sew your smell all through this town.
Siffin' panties on a perfect day.
Sniffin my days away..."
... Genius.
