Description
Gene Smith is a country western recording artist from San Rafael, CA. He has been featured on ESPN's, "America's Horse" and received great reviews in "The Quarter Horse News" and "Performance Horse Magazine."
"The Heart of a Cowboy" features ten songs written by Gene. The music is a mix of traditional/modern country and western swing. The lyrics are about cowboys, the working man, love and life. The title song, "The Heart of a Cowboy," is a tribute to two of Gene's heroes:
champion bull rider, Tuff Hedeman and working cowhorse legend, Greg Ward.
The project was recorded at County Q Productions in Nashville, TN using top name session players, including Rob Hajacos, who has played for Garth Brooks.
