Description

Hired Geeks formed in the fall of 2000 from the likes of music majors, geeks, mathematicians and scholars. They have perfected an intense original sound and a live show that leaves audiences gawking at the mastery of their instruments: 6-string slap and tap bass, french horn, Superbone (valve/slide combo trombone), clock and trigger guitar, and a tenacious double bass drum. A combination of numerous musical elements characterizes the raw sound of the Hired Geeks and has allowed them to break into multiple genres. The Geeks intricately apply classical-modern musical ideas such as polytonalism and polyrhythmics to modern rock and ska, and well as touches of reggae, jazz, metal, funk, progressive, new wave and more. Rapid verses and complex breakdowns mixed with melodical and memorable choruses create an uncomparable kaleidoscopic atmosphere.
