Description
Calico Jack is the duo of Janie Meneely and Paul DiBlasi. The Oyster Wife is their first album together. It records a dozen songs about the Chesapeake Bay and its denizens--primarily the watermen who work the Bay waters. With the exception of the song Shanghaied Dredger (discovered, literally, on an old and tattered broadside), the tunes were composed by Janie Meneely as part of her ongoing effort to catalog Bay history and capture, in song, a rapidly vanishing way of life.
