Description
Jones is an unstoppable band. Consisting of musicians who have worked with an ex-member of Nickelback- though they sound nothing like Nickelback- as well as having the drummer from Canada's indie darlings Tupelo Honey- another band they sound nothing like- on two out of three of their CD's, this self-propelled indie unit knows how to do it and THEY DO. Their latest offering, "Let 'Em Believe What They Wanna Believe" is some fine purist rock, showing what should be shown in all the areas they do battle in- performance, songwriting and production. You'll love 'em live and you'll love this disc! So what DO they SOUND like?! Unique, yet familiar- it's plain rock with deep lyrical sensibility, lots of groove, a hint of the classic, with a breath of the current moment. Think of high-energy within a mantra; a yin/yang Big Sugar or Grady; a grinding heavier version of a womanrock collaboration like the Michelle Branch/Sheryl Crowe duet; blues-based attitude like The Black Crowes with some fresh-air purity like, like...like, well forget that since purity flew the music industry quite a while ago....but you get the picture! Wanna know how they FEEL? Like a blast of mountain air when you're hot, sweaty and tired; like a little reality inside a well-loved fantasy; like some much-needed fantasy inside your worn out reality; like a rumble of thunder in your gut while an angel sings in your ear......they feel real good.
