Description

This CD is a combination of country,folk,and blues songs. I was inspired to write them by all my women friends stories and my own. My hope is that you will listen to the songs and laugh, cry, and maybe say, I know what that is like. I also hope you sing along.

I started out singing the blues in neighborhood bars. It was the blues that gave me a love of greats like Wilson Pickett, Marvin Gaye, Etta James and Aretha Franklin. When I started writing my own stuff, the country/folk singer in me came out, but I still love the blues.

My songwriting influences are Pattie Griffin, Sheryl Crow and Bruce Springstein. My most recent favorite artist is K.T.Tunstall.

My roots are in the Midwest, specifically Iowa and Nebraska, but I have spent most of my life in either Wyoming or Colorado. I presently reside in Boulder, Colorado. I come from a long line of farmers and hard workers, but the more I dig into my family tree, the more I find fiddle players, accordion players, singers and storytellers. My moms beautiful voice was my inspiration as a child.
