The Mecca Session is a subtle and natural blend of the spoken word and melody of lyric; what Kofy Brown calls word-song. This release is the first of a four volume set of live recordings from previous Kofy Brown tours. A rare acoustic set, the KBB revised previously recorded material by Kofy Brown; rearranging and re-interpreting the songs to match the tone and personality of the acoustic instrumentation. Mecca, a small intimate San Francisco restaurant and performance space, provides a warm setting for the band to create and express a visceral and thought provoking set.
