Description
"Bastard Boy" is the sound of Kory Ross. After the break up of Kory's first band Guyver-One (1995-1996) alongside high school friends, Michael Cooper (Transfer, Crimson Curse), Jimmy LaValle (Album Leaf, Tristeza), and Matty Rue Morgue (The Holy Kiss), Kory decided to record his first solo effort under the name "The Caravel". After releasing his first solo cassette recordings, Kory headed north to Utah to form the indie act, Audio Armada with roommates, Curt Leonard, Dirk Lloyd (Plan B), Josh Mckinney, and Jeremy Rice (Player Piano). After a few short tours and opening spots for bands such as Tristeza, Pedro the Lion, and Death Cab For Cutie, the band finally broke up in 2002. The boring and isolated life of Utah became unbearable, so Kory packed his truck and headed back to his hometown of San Diego, California. Later that year, Kory teamed up with another fellow Utah exile, Austin Bean (Remington Standard) to form the indie pop duo, Cabrini. Releasing Show Offs Get Hurt in 2003, Kory toured solo to support the album with the likes of Jason Anderson (Wolf Colonel) and The Love Letter Band. The tour was soon cut short as Kory learned he would soon be a new dad! After a three-year absence, Kory has returned to release his first solo record called "Bastard Boy".
