Lorettas life experiences and some setbacks could have destroyed her witness, yet she pressed daily until her change came. According to Loretta, Victory is sweeter than defeat. God positioning Loretta as a featured psalmist has blessed her to perform with her home church Canaan Missionary Baptist Church; Central State University Chorus; the Little John Brothers; Pastor Larry Coleman and the Ohio Delegation Choir; Lamar Campbell and Spirit of Praise; and the Ohio Baptist General Convention Choir and many others.
Moving from Ohio to Texas did not stop Lorettas blessings or mission to sing songs that inspire, encourage and remind souls to never give up. Loretta learned early on that obedience is better than sacrifice. Because of her obedience, God continued to open doors to position Loretta to work with some of the industrys finest gospel artists and producers through song, spoken and written expressions. Such pioneers and trailblazers include, the late Brenda Waters, Shirley Joiner, Pastor Shirley Ceasar, Evangelist Kathy Bynum, Alvin Slaughter, Michael Pickett, Celebration Live recording of the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses, Inc., Theola Booker, Marcus Dawson, Kevin Graves, Gerard Hairston, Byron Williams and Eddie Hall and many others.
To add to Lorettas repertoire, she set the atmosphere through song for Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie to share the Word of God at the 47th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada. Loretta also was invited to sing a hymn of praise during the National Social Action Luncheon where Secretary of Education, Rod Paige was the keynote speaker.
Lorettas abilities as an accomplished actor has been seen in her starring role as Velma in the hit stage play Crowns at the Ensemble Theater. Playing the role of Velma, Loretta received rave reviews in The Houston Chronicle and The Houston Press. In a heart-changing and soulful performance, Loretta also captivated her audience as Sis. Taylor in the play When Mama Prays at the Wortham Theatre, Harvest Time Church and St. Agnes Baptist Church. Additionally, Loretta has appeared on Day Stars Houston Celebration and Gospel Dream where she snagged first place in the ever-so popular and most unique flavorful rendition of Amazing Grace. As Loretta perfects her gift from God, she serves in music ministry at Charity Baptist Church where the Rev. Burnis Burnside is pastor and for workshops and conferences throughout the southern and mid-western regions.
Loretta's aims are to never compromise her position in Christ, and always be a light and not a thorn while letting people know they are never alone even when it hurts.
