MADATHENS/POP SCENE01
Grabber rec. presents the compilation Athens Pop Scene 01, including the 12 best new up and coming bands that prove the fact that the new alternative scene is alive and kicking in Greece and they have nothing to be jealous of, in comparison with other international acts.
The compilation tries to cover all the different tendencies in the local underground pop/rock spectrum. Most of the acts are in their early stage and they make their very first appearance in a recording release. Mad Club (a historical local hang out-venue) supported the whole effort by offering the chance to most of the bands to perform on its stage as part of a purpose designed series of events with the same name as the compilation. The events will keep on taking place and hopefully more compilations in the series will follow in the near future.
The compilation is the second release of Graber rec, a label that functions as part of Rabber rec. The label aims to support the best guitar driven music on offer in Greece, and at the same time to create a whole scene with a particular personality and distinctive sound style, away from mainstream mediocrity.
