Description
Magic Orange is a New York-based band featuring Ben Donson (saxophone, vocals), Doug McHoul (guitar, vocals), Brad Scheller (keyboards, vocals) and Jesse Schmidt (drums) combining their collective influences of rock, blues, and jazz in order to produce something completely unique in contrast to much of todays popular music.
Formed in late 2005, the band came together after previously-established acquaintances with one another, in addition to collaborating with one or the other band members on various former projects.
In 2006, Magic Orange entered the studio to try and capture on tape the same vivacity they exude while live and on-stage. Their debut limited-edition release EP, titled Segments, was recorded in a complete live atmosphere, and no one can deny the raw energy and intense fusion present on all five tracks.
