HABITAT, the brand new concept CD from MAN ON FIRE
Join MAN ON FIRE on a conceptual musical journey through a concrete jungle of greed, power, love, death, loss and discovery. An environment teeming with savage grace and decaying beauty, a place where disconnected lives are intertwined through a common thread of existence: a single urban city block - their HABITAT.
Brimming with nearly 70 minutes of brand new music, HABITAT features special guests ADRIAN BELEW as primary guitarist (King Crimson, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails) and DAVID RAGSDALE on violin (Kansas, Smashing Pumpkins).
In fact, Adrian Belew had this to say about MAN ON FIRE and HABITAT:
"You know how cool it is when you discover an amazing new band? Imagine how cool it is when you get to play on their new record. It was truly enjoyable to work with MAN ON FIRE. They made a great record I am happy to be a part of. Check it out!"
- Adrian Belew
Once again produced by vocalist/keyboardist Jeff Hodges, HABITAT features the incredible state-of-the-art sound quality which has become a standard for MAN ON FIRE. Utilizing extensive sound effects imagery between the
tracks, HABITAT is an immersive, cinematic experience which hems the listener in, creating a singular and unique first person perspective. The final mixes of the CD were mastered by veteran mastering engineer Brad Blackwood (Evanescence).
Here's what some of the advance reviews of HABITAT are saying:
This band is starting to rack up one solid release after another that should eventually lead them to the upper echelon of the prog universe.

...it suddenly hit me as nothing less than astonishing! Man On Fire is of rare breed in the progressive rock movement today, mixing classic progressive rock with a bit of Peter Gabriel and modern King Crimson. Guesting on the album is David Ragsdale (violin) formerly of Kansas and Adrian Belew (guitar) of King Crimson. Man On Fire might have done the album of the year and songs like Mr. Lie and Majestic are strong contenders for the song of the year award.

MOF is an original band. There is nothing derivative here. Even Adrian Belew's playing (has been) morphed into the MOF sound. Yeah, you hear his tone and unique phrasing (which is the perfect compliment to MOF's keyboard/fretless bass driven songs) but it is somehow totally fresh in this context. It sounds like he was stoked to be playing with these guys.
