Description
MARK TATE is a multitalented artist with a career that spans over 30 years. Mark is known for his high vocals (ala Mickey Thomas, Steve Perry) and blasting guitar solos (ala Hendrix, Clapton). For the past ten years Mark has been lead guitar player and backup vocalist for the legendary Freddy Fender. Also traveling with the Freddy Fender Band is Augie Meyers of Texas Tornados fame. Augie suggested that Mark come to San Antonio, Texas and record some songs that he had written. Mark being a fellow Texan couldnt find a reason not to go. Using well known Texas musicians such as George Rains on drums (Stevie Ray Vaughn), Jack Barber on bass (Texas Tornados) Augie Meyers on keyboard, these songs came alive. That true Texas flavor flows through these songs. Mark also included some of his (and his wifes) favorite cover tunes. The album was recorded at the Blue Cat Studios with a time table of five days so that live on stage feel is definitely present. So sit back and enjoy the Texas sounds of Mark Tate!
