Description
Marqui Adora
It was August of 2004 and I was rehearsing with the first inception of Marqui Adora. In the studio next door, Joe Shockley (Drums) and John Tooker (Bass / Keyboards) went over some of their material. As fate would have it, during a break in between songs, they heard me singing next door and decided they were going to steal me from my band. After practice, Joe approached me and suggested we get together for a jam. A few weeks went by before Joe and I actually spoke again. By this time Marqui Adora was due for a full line-up change.
From the first practice we knew we were onto something amazing. After a couple of weeks and 7 songs later, we decided it was time to see if we could reproduce all this in front of a live audience. September 10th, 2004: Marqui Adora played their first show at Bitch Control inside Seor Frogs (South Beach). In the following months, we played shows at Poplife (I/O Lounge), Revolver's 4-year anniversary along with the Stills (Pawn Shop) and a few Warehouse parties.
What Are You Waiting For?
January of 2005: We began work on our debut album. We also began to write a lot more material. As the material evolved and changed, so did the albums song list. During this time we managed to amass a list of over 30 songs to choose from. In between hurricanes, ear damage, and erratic work schedules, we continued recording and finalizing the line-up for the album.
The debut album "White Buildings" was release on June 22nd of 2006. Marqui Adora celebrated this ocassion with a Live Performance at Plastik Fantastik inside South Florida's premier rock n' roll club, Studio A.
And with the first album only a few weeks old we've already started recording the next...
