Description
Matti Ardison's first CD features 12 original modern folk songs. Ardison's intimate vocals and intelligent/thoughtful lyrics convey a sense of sorrow, and paradoxically of peace; a feeling that even through suffering, everything will be alright. Her sultry voice caresses the listener into a meditative and reflective state, providing a haven from the fast living, fast dying urban world. Instrumentally, Ardison's simple arrangements reflect her philosophy of music which she describes as "the silence between the notes".
Ardison composed, arranged, recorded and produced all the songs on the CD in her mobile recording studio, Burning Records. Her Do-It-Yourself ethic allows for a style uniquely her own. She has performed extensively in both Canada and the US, fronting many bands. This is Ardison's first solo effort, a departure that will certainly mark her arrival in the music scene.
