Michael's new cd is for you and everyone who loves good Jazz. Michael Camacho is not new to the music world. It wasn't long ago he did an international million seller but today Michael is doing what he loves best....singing jazz standards from the Great American Songbook and writing what may become new standards in the future.
Of the twelve selections in the CD , Mr. Camacho wrote five of them including the title and he gives new life to songs written by Johnny Mercer, Sammy Cahn, Hoagy Carmichael, Lennon and McCartney, just to name a few.
This record by Michael is one of the most relaxing and at the same time compelling vocal work in the traditional Jazz context. His choice of side men are all top first call New York players whom I'm well familiar with. To hear Michael live is also a delightful experience as he always approaches material with a fresh and spontaneous interpretation. His sense of melody and rythmn put him at the top of the list of vocalists on the scene today competing for the listeners ear. We'll all be hearing much more from this most personable of male jazz vocalists.
