"We are sorry if we woke you, but we're not sorry we rock"
These days, when you turn on the radio, boredom quickly sets in. Almost every band sounds the same. To stick out in todays music industry, you must have your own sound and identity. You must take the music that has come before you, and let it progress into something that is fresh.
Mile Marker Zero embraces this philosophy with vigor. The five long time friends are creating music that is exciting, powerful, and most of all; unique. MMZ boasts one of the best live shows by an unsigned band youve ever seen. Listening to their recordings can bring you back to the days when you put on your headphones and slipped into a world of blissful oblivion. Well crafted songwriting, raw energy, and sonic intensity are captured in each second of the music.
Blending a hard rock sound with progressive rock influences, Mile Marker Zero sculpts distinctive songs
that convey many moods and emotions, yet always retain the bands identity. Though Mile Marker Zero has been a mainstay in the Connecticut scene for years,
the band came full circle by increasing to a five piece ensemble in 2005. Band members Dave Alley (Vocals), John Tuohy (Guitars), Mark Focarile (Keyboards),
Tim Rykoski (Bass), and Doug Alley (Drums) honed their craft while students in college together. Hundreds of gigs and hours of work have given MMZ the experience needed to survive in todays demanding industry.
In August 2006, The Haunted EP was released to a restless fan base. They were eager to hear
staples of the bands live performance on CD for the first time. The five song EP displays
the bands, attitude, stellar musicianship, and intelligent approach to songwriting. From the epic rock anthem of The Keeper to the acoustically driven Plead My Case
and the incendiary Agoraphobia, this debut is unrestrained by convention. This recording will prove to be a launching pad for MMZs future endeavors.
Mile Marker Zero is a band with endless potential and possibilities. They are a band that will be around for decades and will continue to make music that challenges genres and amazes audiences. With the success of The Haunted, websites like Myspace, Garageband, and PureVolume have expanded their continuously growing fan base. Mile Marker Zero has just begun to scratch the surface of a monumental career that sees no end.
