Description
If you ask any of the guys in miles theyll probably tell you it shouldve started a while ago. Kenny Flax, Ben Jacobs, Marc Plotkin, and Brandon Sherman were all accustomed to each others styles after years of jazz gigging and various duo and trio projects, but it wasnt until 2005, when they all joined together, that the culmination of all such experiences reached a pinnacle and miles was formed. This band takes its well-crafted songwriting and throws it in the punch bowl with top-notch chops. Giving themselves their own sound, theyve made a statement on the stage and in the studio taking pop hooks and fusing them with funk, blues, and even Afro-Cuban flavors. Miles has had the honor and pleasure of supporting such acts as Columbia Records recording artist, Ari Hest, acclaimed jazz guitarist Dave Stryker, and many other great artists both in the pop and jazz world. In 2006, miles completed its debut EP entitled "Wow & Flutter", the first test in translating their extensive live experience into a studio environment. From 1970s-style falsetto vocal harmonies, to bebop sax, Wow & Flutter demonstrates the true versatility of this new group.
