Description
It started with a Diss...
While working on songs for the new Millions album bassist/songwriter Christopher Grey found himself on the receiving end of some pointed comments from an old friend. "One day I was checking my voicemail and I had this extremely long message where I could hear my friend talking complete shit about me," says Christopher. It seems that his "good friend" had just tried to call Christophers cell phone to talk about some upcoming business but failed to hang up before delivering a devastating and damning rant. This is just the kind of twisted inspiration that The Millions thrive off of. The song "Disrespectfully Yours" was born and soon after, the band decided to make it the title track of their 2nd album.
With songwriting, singing, production, playing and engineering contributions coming from all directions within the band, The Millions continue to be a self-contained Rock and Roll Machine. In fact, the only outside contribution came from Producer, Garret Hammond (Kill Hannah) who engineered the drum tracks at his project studio, the Noise Floor. "We've finally got a lineup that works really well together and can do it all so that's what we chose to do," says front man Dan Edwards. "We've all got our own project studios, which made it easy for us to work on things simultaneously or collaboratively." In the end, it yielded the band a lucky thirteen tracks of unadulterated Rawk and Roll.
From the opening blast of "On My Mind" to the (auto)biographical bookend of "Outerspace", The Millions have once again delivered the goods. The addition of new drummer, Kip Serena brings intensity to the arena rock of "Give Up". And bassist Christopher Grey, who joined too late to make songwriting contributions to the first album, now makes his presence fully known with stellar tracks such as, "Everythings Not Me" and the aforementioned title track. Through it all, you can still hear the familiar dueling guitars of Johnny Million and Dan "The Fox" Edwards.
The Millions first album, "Million Dollar Rock" was released to critical acclaim Stateside (Million Dollar Records) as well as in Europe (Stealth Records) and Japan (Egging Records). If you've ever watched a show on MTV, VH1 or Fuel chances are you've probably heard their music. They've had placements on such show as, "Pimp My Ride", "Punk'd", "Firsthand", "Celebrity Fit Club", "Laguna Beach" and "Supergroup". The Millions have been tapped for performances in a ComEd Television commercial and the "Harley Davidson 100th Birthday Bash" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And let's not forget their live show high energy, meets precision served up with blunt force. The Millions are "Disrespectfully Yours".
