Description
Nothing to Declare
Nothing To Declare, formerly known as GORBACHEV was born in the summer of 1999, in Singapore. Some called them J-pop, some said Punk Rock, Some said Ska, some said Emo. A group of passionate Japanese youngsters stormed through a variety of gigs and events nationwide, growing its fan base show after show.
Best Entertainment Award (Yamaha, Asian Beat 2003), Runner Up as the youngest band (FM96.3 Competition @ HMV) only meant passing points for the Japanese rocket, their First Single "Facing Above" being on FM99.5 and gaining a slot on Mohegan Record's "Kiss My Act" Compilation album (2004, w/Acid-9, Objection Overule, Opposition Party, Plain Sunset etc...) gained them nothing but strong supporters from the local scene.
In 2004, the band went on an indefinite break from having shows. Meanwhile, Vocalist/Guitarist, Mas Kimura, joined a Pop Punk Band, Pug Jelly (Universal) as a Guitarist, and made a big success in South East Asia, played alongside with SUM41, Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, Blondie and more, as well as being one of the nominees for the MTV Asia Award 2005. Japanese/Singaporean Bassist, Mario Mori, joined a Ska Punk Band Pop Whizzee and kicked in Singapore's underground punk scene, as well as in Indonesia.
Came the Summer of 2005, back by popular demands, the everlasting spirits hit the studios once again to restart their career as "Nothing To Declare".
In year 2006, with their first Self-titled Ep with strong hits such as Nightmare (ranked in best 3 on a ringtone company, Au/KDDI back in their home country, Japan), they're ready and steady to kick off once again.
