Description
Opie Bellas (her full name is Kalliope) has been singing for radio and TV commercials, Clubs and Jazz Festivals in the United States, Switzerland, Japan and Australia. She is a regular performer in New York as well as her home in San Francisco. Ms Bellas was a classical radio show host and has recorded Children's Books on Tape for Macmillan Publishing Company. Her recordings are sensuous, soulful and warm.
Critics have described her voice this way..... a sophisticated, honey-warm jazz sound like Bellas - and phrasing that would have made Ella nod in admiration......says Stephanie Salter of the San Francisco Chronicle........' A velvety tone with warm, incisive reading of song lyric, Bellas has an uncluttered approach to the melody lne, a voice deceptively clear but layered with intriguing shadows to cast new flavors on songs like Live For Life and Windmills of Your Mind.....says Elizabeth Ahfors of Cabaret Scenes Magazine - New York City.
