Description
On The Train, has a special dedication to my co-writer Neal Grossman. If you knew Neal, you knew that being in a wheelchair and having great difficulty speaking, eating and doing the things we take for granted did not dim Neals joi dvivre in the least.
As we worked together, I would go to his house on the West Side (NYC), pick out a few lyrics from his vast collection of poems, take them home and work on them, make a demo and bring them back. It brought both of us great joy and satisfaction to collaborate in this way. Neal was very courageous, funny and poignant, like his lyrics. Luckily he got to hear all the songs completed before he died, on July 23rd. We started working together over 2 years ago when we wrote and recorded Anyplace at All and Heaven in my Mind (the title track of my last CD). I hope you all get a chance to hear his words.
Because my producer Michael Mugrage is on the staff of Songs Of Love, a not for profit group that writes songs for children who are dying (please visit their website at www.songsoflove.com), I will be giving 10% of my CD sales to that organization.
